How Biotechnology Will Impact My Life

Biotechnology Impact
Biotechnology has already impacted my life. In my research I learned that Edward Jenner invented vaccines and Alexander Fleming discovered antibiotics. As an asthma patient, I have developed pneumonia and the only thing that helps clear the pneumonia infection. So, without this form of biotechnology I would have serious problems. We all like to enjoy our happy hour moments. Without biotechnology we wouldn’t be able enjoy beer, wine, and cheese on the side. The actual term “biotechnology” was first coined by Karl Ereky in 1919, where he learned how to use raw materials to assist in the needs of humans. They use things such as living cells, plants, other things found in nature.
Once again, I never knew how much biotechnology already impacts my life today. But, the future of biotechnology such as the efficacy of "personalized medicine" will depend on how we as humans respond to it. These will be tailored to the need of individual people. This excites because some medications that are currently available do not work for everyone because we have different DNA compositions which means there needs to be some tweaking done to medication therapies. Lastly, biotechnology will impact me because medical needs do arise, and there needs to continuous growth in the medical field to keep the patients it serves healthy.
