My Cure for Skin Cancer
by

Where would you look specifically to find a cure for cancer?
I would look for research studies done on those who had skin cancer. I would also talk to doctor's and those who work specifically with cancer patients. I would specifically look for information on the causes of skin cancers.
How would you go about finding a cure (Layout your detailed plan)?
I would research the causes of skin cancers. For example risk factors of skin cancers are fair skin, history of sunburns, excessive sun exposure, sunny or high altitude climates, moles, precancerous skin lesions, weakened immune system, exposure to radiation and personal and family history of skin cancer. I would look at the risk factors and try to find ways to lower the risk factors for those who are at high risk for skin cancer. For those who already have skin cancer I would try to improve the ways that we already cure skin cancers. I would also suggest ways to prevent their cancers from getting worse like avoiding direct sunlight or using protection like sunscreen and not using tanning beds. Some examples of the ways that are already used to treat skin cancers are freezing the affected area, cutting out the affected tissues, radiation and chemotherapy.
Integrate two scientific references that you researched that support your plan. Include a statement for each in your writing.
The Skin Cancer Foundation states "The two main causes of skin cancers are the sun's harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays and the used of UV tanning machines." Research done by The Skin Cancer Foundation and Mayo Clinic both state that ways of preventing skin cancers can start by protecting skin from the UV rays that damage our DNA.
