Dysuria is the medical term used when someone is having pain while urinating, most commonly described as burning. It usually occurs after a bacteria infection is inside the urinary tract. Dysuria is also a common symptom of bladder infections. Other things that can cause dysuria are UTI's, kidney stones, prostate infection, STI's, and chemical sensitivities.
Treatment of dysuria will depend on what is causing it. A lot of times antibiotics taken orally will easily relive someones dysuria. Some things you could do at home to relieve the discomfort would be to increase your water intake, drink cranberry juice and to use a hot-pack on the irritated area.
