The COVID-19 pandemic first began in china and is the product of a zoonotic shift between coronavirus of different species of animals that has made it's way to becoming a human disease. The structure of COVID-19 is that it is an RNA positive virus and the "corona" suffix is due the glycoprotein crown found on the virus and like many viruses COVID-19 hijacks our cells to then make copies of itself by the thousands. There have been different cases of coronavirus but this case is one that is of various severity and has caused there to be a global pandemic. This virus is spread via droplets and can be spread from people to people so an effective way to prevent infection is by staying away from being too close to individuals and also to take regular precautionary mentions like washing your hand and not touching your face/mouth.
